About Us

The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in the year 1996 and presently offers 4-year B.Tech. programme in Chemical Engineering with 60 intake. The programme is approved by AICTE and Accredited Twice by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, New Delhi. The Department is planning to start M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering in the near future.

The Chemical Engineering programme is run as per the curriculum and syllabus prescribed by the Acharya Nagarjuna University. The curriculum and syllabi is designed by the Board of Studies in Chemical Engineering of Acharya Nagarjuna University and is approved by the Academic Senate of the University. The board of studies consists of senior faculty of the University as well as from the other Universities and senior executives from the industries.

Presently the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering of this Institution Dr. M.Venkateswara Rao is the Chairman for the Board of studies in Chemical Engineering of Acharya Nagarjuna University.

The Department of Chemical Engineering with its laboratories, lecture halls and faculty rooms etc., are housed in an exclusive building.

The Department has the state of the art equipment necessary for curricular needs and latest software in Chemical Engineering like AspenONE V7.1 and TSPL.

The Department is complimented with adequate staff with three Ph.D.’s and nine M.Tech.’s.

As a Phillip to the aim of continuing education, the students are specially trained for GATE, GRE, and TOEFL. All the attempts are made by the Department and placement cell to arrange recruitment for the pass outs to the extent possible.

The Alumni of the Department are faring well in their occupations. A good number of students are admitted into IIT's, REC’s for higher studies and a number of students are pursuing their higher studies abroad.

Traditionally the Department is organizing one or two programs every year providing a forum for exchange of ideas and transfer of know how between students and staff of Chemical Engineering Department in various institutions across the state/country.
